The basics
What is a prompt?
It's the message you type to an AI like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. The clearer and more complete that message is, the better the answer. If you've never used AI, start with the "What is a prompt?" guide.
What does Prompt Coach do?
It helps you write that message. It asks simple questions (what it's for, who it's for, how you want it) and turns your answers into a clear prompt, ready to paste into the AI you use.
Is it free?
Yes. The guided coach is free and unlimited. The AI coach is free too, with a daily limit on conversations.
Do I need an account?
No. Just open it and use it, no sign-up or email.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, on any phone, tablet or computer with an up-to-date browser.
How it works
What's the difference between the guided coach and the AI coach?
The guided coach uses questions designed in advance for each type of task and responds instantly. It has a quick mode (4 questions) and a complete mode (9). The AI coach takes your finished template, or a prompt you already have, and optimizes it in a single message, with tips on how to use it better.
Which AI does the AI coach use?
It uses Llama 3.3, a model from Meta running on Cloudflare's servers. The prompt it builds works with any AI: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others.
How often can I use the AI coach?
Three conversations a day, up to 10 messages each. The optimized prompt arrives by your fourth message at the latest. The guided coach has no limit.
Why won't the AI coach answer my question?
Because it only helps with prompts. If you ask it something else (a price, the news, a calculation), it offers to turn your question into a good prompt you can ask another AI.
What does the score mean?
It measures how complete and specific your prompt is across its 8 layers: role, context, goal, steps, examples, constraints, format and success criteria. It's strict on purpose: picking generic options won't get a high score, but concrete details about your situation will. Anything above 70 is a very good prompt.
Does it work for ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude Code?
Yes. Choose where you'll use the prompt and the coach adapts the structure and tips: XML tags for Claude, headed sections for ChatGPT and Gemini, and a step-by-step way of working for Claude Code.
Privacy
Do you store my prompts?
We do not: your prompts are never stored on our servers. Your own browser keeps the last 20 you finish so you can copy them again; only you can see them, and you can delete them anytime. In the AI coach, your conversation is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI only to generate a reply and is not stored.
What shouldn't I type?
Passwords, card numbers, bank details or other people's private information. You don't need any of that to write a great prompt.
